Nos. 1 and 2 in the Rumble are Orton and Edge. Interesting.
Does that mean they'll have another match at Wrestlemania and Orton will wrap up (or put on hiatus) his feud with Alexa and Fiend? Or maybe the Fiend comes back and Orton/Edge team up to fight he and Alexa?
Either way, I think that pretty much rules out either of them winning the Rumble. Unless they do a thing where they brawl to the back, disappear for an hour, and then come back to the ring for the finish I can't see either of those guys making an ironman run from either a physical or storyline perspective.

 

Probably use that as the final blowoff. They come out first and go hot. A few other guys get in,and both of them toss those guys out. Maybe, like you say, a brawl to the back to let them rest.

They show Orton hitting a big move on Edge in the back to knock him out for a while. Randy comes back to the ring, RKOs a mid carder or two, then Bray comes out and eliminates him and continues that feud.

Meanwhile, Edge gets a nice long rest and comes back. The Rumble, when you think about it, is relatively not that taxing if you’re a wrestler. After your initial two minutes or whatever, except for an occasional move, most of the time, you and the guys are just pushing each other around on the ropes and pretending that you’re about to be thrown out.

 

I wonder if theyre trying to get eyes on the show by promoting not only is Edge in this but he’s starting, rather than a surprise.

or if its some indication they have even bigger surprises they’re holding back

 

The premiere of that new "Icons" series on the Network on Yokozuna is great, but it's still eye-rolling to see them talk about Hogan politicking his way into the WM main event at Caesar's Palace. But at least Yoko got the chance to squash him out of the WWF at King of the Ring.

 

Will Omos be in the rumble—or just outside, catching AJ Styles and putting him back.

I've been wondering if they could do a Yokozuna with Omos. The WWE threw Yokozuna into the Wrestlemania main event off the rumble after after a relatively experience. They both have that physical freak appeal.

 

Nah. Yoko was infinitely more talented than Omos. Notice that, in all his time seconding Shane and AJ on the main roster, he hasn't done anything remotely resembling a move, other than catch some guys

 

Is some of that by design? Like showing his physical presence is intimidating enough, and then when he does actually break out a move it's going to be a "holy shit, that 8-foot tall guy just did a Spanish Fly!" moment?

 

With Omos, I don't think so. He's going to be much closer to Khali than he will any of the super big guys who could move.

 

I think, and not just because AJ looks like Shawn, that Omos eventual debut and build will look like Diesel’s.

Hes not ready to win the Rumble or main even Mania, but he may be more ready for matches/a run that we realize
