AEW’s graphics department is the best. They put “Unnecessary Cheap Pop” on Hangman’s graphic when he unzipped his jacket to show off the belt.

Like the vibe of Bryan heeling a bit on Page. And a WrestleMania mention on AEW TV.

    Holy shit. It's happening.

Punk vs. MJF. On the mic alone, this will be a whole heap of epicness.

I’m hoping MJF gets a title run in 2022. It would be epic.

I really hope Danielson doesn’t. They should keep the title with some longtimers in AEW.

I was thinking about AEW and how they've only had four world champions in 2 1/2 years, and it got me thinking about how we've quietly moved into an era where world title changes are pretty rare again. For a while, it seemed like guys would only hold the belt for a month or two. Now in AEW and WWE, the standard reign seems to be about six months at minimum.

WWE had a couple of transition champs with Orton in late 2020 and then Miz earlier this year. But other than those two, the only WWE championship reign since 2017 that was shorter than 100 days (excluding Big E's current run) was McIntyre's second run in 2020. That checked in at 97 days, and came after he'd held it for 203 days, lost it to Orton and then won it back three weeks later. After that, you have to go to Daniel Bryan in 2018 (145 days).
The Universal title was in flux for a while, but Roman Reigns is now going on well over a year with it.
And over in AEW, Moxley and Omega both held their world championship for close to a year before dropping it. Jericho's initial run was right around six months. Even their last two TNT champions kept the belts for a while.
Between the two companies, we've had four year-long (or close to it) world title reigns since the start of 2017.

Not sure if that means anything, but thought it was interesting.

To that end, Roman’s current reign of 445+ days is already longer than the CM Punk record breaker and longer than 5 of Hogan’s 6 WWF title runs

    And more cuts:

Does this company have any clue what it’s doing?

Morrison is surprising. And I guess Hit Row and Nox since they've been getting some TV time late. But on the whole, those aren't exactly indispensable parts of the roster.

Hit Row surprised me because they just were brought up and seemed like they’d have a solid future as an marketable group. Morrison still had the Miz feud that he could deal with. Tegan could have been an excellent babyface and she’s pretty young, although sheiks already had two major knee injuries. The others really weren’t doing much.
