The thing with Braun is he was a WWE creation from the start, so I think the only logical path for him (if he wants to stay in wrestling) would be the only other company that is on anything near the same stature as WWE, and that's AEW. He wouldn't know how to "do the indies," he's definitely not compatible with ROH and I don't think he'd want to go to Impact.

I gotta think that Braun and Black were cut because they had contracts worth a certain amount and were considered the most disposable at that level. They've got the end of a quarter coming up in a few weeks, and they probably dumped their salaries to try to make the earnings report look better.

Exactly. Braun should have been the next unbeatable monster, until the Fiend came along to both have a battle of unbeatables along with the previous history between them. Instead, Braun got neutered into Big Show, Version II. Which is a major problem for the E, because they never want to pull the trigger to send the next huge star into the stratosphere unless they are absolutely dragged kicking and screaming into doing so.

Can we agree that when it comes to catch phrases, "these hands" was kind of weak?

My thing is, the WWE always calls these "releases," even if it's more "we couldn't come to terms on an extension." It's not what the word means when referring to other "sports" leagues, when usually release refers to letting someone go before their contract expires.

Oddly, I think he would be great with ROH just because he's not their style, ha. Like their peak as a company was when Samoa Joe was there. I don't really think Braun "needs" to do the indies, unless he was just not banking any cash from his wrestling career, but I do think he'd be a pretty big draw for any promotion. He's got the size to sell tickets. I was just suggesting that he should stay off TV for a bit to increase his importance when he does debut in AEW.

Honestly I could see Strowman in Hollywood next to Batista and the mountain before he ends up in another wrestling promotion

He said at one point that he wouldn't wrestle for anyone other than WWE. We'll see how long that pledge lasts when bills start coming in.

Watching the Dark Side on Grizzly Smith, Jake Roberts and his siblings...

    Damn. Just damn.

And more proof that DDP is one of the greatest miracle workers ever for getting Jake cleaned up after all the shit he's been through, self-inflicted and not.

So there’s a trailer for a Vice doc on Chyna.... is it done by the Dark Side guys? And if not why?

cuz the “dark side of football” is in fact NOT done by the dark side guys and it sucks.

    its all rather confusing

I was able to see that last night after someone posted it on YouTube (viewer beware, the first one I watched for about the first 30 minutes, but then it looped back and just repeated the first part; the second YouTube posting showed the whole thing):

"Dysfunctional" doesn't even this family justice. A lot of squeamish details, although I was clued into the family dynamic listening to Jake talk in "Beyond the Mat" and the "Resurrection..." docs.

My biggest takeaway was the story was Robin Smith telling of the surprise visit from her dad with a preteen girl, and Robin making sure the girl didn't leave with Grizzly.
