Did these NBCSN announcers just discover “y’all” was a word this morning? It’s like listening to me try to conjugate Farsi.

And that is that. I don’t like the Canes’ chances to get past Tampa though.

If they don't stop committing penalties, it will be over before it starts. Saw Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov look as if rest overruled rust in what I saw against Florida, especially on the power play.

Carolina can beat Tampa, but they must be more disciplined. Plus, while I know Rod Brind'Amour won't allow it as an excuse, getting out of a series in which each of the last four games went into overtime – two of those a second overtime, to boot – could already take something out of them.

John Forslund has lived in the Triangle for the last 20-plus years, so that's a "no." As for Pierre Maguire, the less we all hear from him, the better.

Good series by yours though. Best of luck.

Appreciate it, good sir. And I say this with respect and admiration ... go back to the Western Conference next season, please.

LOL. My manager now is a big Canes fan from ENC and regarded a 9:30 EDT puck drop as a war crime.

Uh-huh. ACC men's games start at 2100 and 2130 all season for TV broadcast reasons. If he/she's a college sports fan, was he complaining then? If so, then he/she is consistent, at least.

    Where in ENC?

    Your least-favorite town. :)

She’s a Michigan transplant though, so no real ties to ECU or any of the ACC drama.

In Greenville, there should be no griping about a 2130 face-off. They party well into the night ... so an overtime hockey game might cut into bar time. They're already drunk by face-off, anyway.

The best thing about Covid was that it kept him from standing way too close to players in a creepy way, and turning what are supposed to be interviews into really awkward and uncomfortable situations.

The second worst thing about Covid (after the death toll and the grieving) is that the virus hasn't stopped McGuire from finding awkward ways to mention random players' junior coaches and third-grade teachers.
