Dilfer is coaching a private high school, correct? I realize the place is probably a football factory but do such places pay coaches as much as 200K? Much less seven figures?

As I said, all I know is what I saw in one article earlier today. I had no reason to follow Dilfer until this blew up.

TigerVols might know. I'm too lazy to dig at it.

Took a quick Google and there's an Outkick article from October about the school being so rich it has its own barber shop. They mentioned that Dilfer was estimated to make 1.3m.

The latest Split Zone Duo — especially Godfrey — goes really hard, especially the pre-emetive whitewashing of Chris Low and ESPN as Kiffin bowed out and it was clear Freeze was the remaking, emergency option. A good listen.

Ask Notre Dame (Gerry Faust) and North Texas (Todd Dodge) how pulling straight from the prep ranks worked out for them. At least Dodge went back to high school and won another state championship.

    “Uh Oh Mickey
    You’re so screwed
    You’re so screwed
    You lost your mind
    Uh oh Mickey
    Uh oh Mickey”

“Uh oh Mickey, what a pity, you don't understand
You pull me by the hair and you ring my little neck
Uh Oh Mickey, you're so screwed, can't you understand?
    It's guys like you, Mickey
Ouch what you do Mickey, do Mickey
    Don't break my arm, Mickey”

Well, I think either this turns out to be a good hire or it crashes and burns. Either way we need a new coach in 3-4 years.

    The G5 life.

Vance Joseph is like… shit, never getting the job at Colorado when it opens every three years.

For all the myriad flaws with the Rooney Rule, most colleges don’t even make a pretense that they are considering anyone other than the white, square-jawed Football Man from central casting. Of course in some of these states, the colleges can’t even teach why that would be the case.

I actually think that UAB could start having a consistently good program with the ewn transfer poral rules. Right now the best athletes are recruited by the Power 5. I don't think there are many kids of the UAB roster who were offered by an SEC school out of high school. If a school in a G5 conference does turn up a kid that should have a Power 5 recruit they will probably leave for more NIL money.

But that a lot of kids who did not make the starting 22 at a P5 school will be transferring out of schools like Alabama and Auburn. I think a school like UAB could do well by recruiting players from Alabama who were not good enough to start at P5 school.
