If he leaves, the lead "Coach Prime ain't SWAC any more" practically writes itself.

Kind of stunned? I mean, this is so far out of left field. It's such a 180 from CU football from the last 30 years.

    And it's reportedly $5 million a year.

It could maybe be good or a freakin' train wreck by New Year's Day.

Thanks, but that one's been rattling around in my brain for the past couple of weeks ever since all of this talk got started.

You've posted a lot about how far down the Buffs are on the food chain. This is definitely a big splash.

Oh, no doubt. From Dullard to Prime? It's a massive shift. I mean, why not? I don't think it's a fit but I'm not up there and I'm not signing the checks (or the payouts when he pulls MidnightMel2

I totally get why Colorado would do this. It's the program that time forgot.

I don't get why Deion is doing it. It's the coaching equivalent of entering the Witness Relocation Program.

The Pac-12 isn't really known for splashy hires outside of the LA schools - but dang. That might be worth a few more mil on the TV package. Also pretty sure UCLA and USC will be firmly ensconced somewhere between the Penn State and Minnesota level. They may combine for one win a year against Michigan and Ohio State, but they'' lose three times to the nether regions of the BiG.

One reason is that he did get the Auburn job.

Colorado has more money than people give the school credit for. I looked it up and Colorado in 2019 had a higher athletic department budget than Utah despite having three fewer varsity sports. Dorrell was getting close to 20 million over five years and Deion will get close to 25 million over five years.

And if Deion can elevate that program into any bowl game he is coaching in the SEC for eight million a year. I am pretty sure Deion thinks he can get enough talent into Boulder that he can get the team bowl eligible pretty quickly.

One thing I have found interesting is that Owen McNown, who was the most effective of the four quarterbacks the team started before he got hurt, announced this week he was entering the portal and gave a statement that seemed to indicate that his mind was made up to leave. And the offensive team captain, who was a junior, also entered the portal.

Maybe they will change their minds but I wonder if they were pushed or shoved.

One snowstorm and he’ll be planning his exit strategy.

Deion Sanders on his first trip to Pullman: "It's the Itta Bena of the Pac."
