Definitely not an outsider. Chris McIntosh, native of Pewaukee (same HS as the Watt brothers), was an All-American lineman at Wisconsin and first-round pick by the Seahawks. He was Associate AD for years under Alvarez, but as mentioned, didn’t play for Chryst at Wisconsin.

I agree with you on Logan. I had his game on Thursday and what a good gig he's got going on.

All of the top players migrate to Creek, where he wins state titles every year (and they'll win it again this year from what I've seen up close in 5A even though Creek seems off from the past couple of years).

He's got the afternoon radio gig. He's got the Broncos gig. His "Team Dave Logan" stuff. So he's pulling in seven figures there. Why does he need the bullshit of Boulder and NIL and a school not even close to being one-quarter in, much less all-in, on football. He's in his late 60s so I don't think it would happen. Maybe 10 years ago. But he's 500 times the coach Ed McCaffrey is and Ed faked his way to a state title at Valor and somehow has the UNC job.

McIntosh is a sharp guy. Smart. As a player in college, he always seemed to see the big picture. This was such a humiliating loss -- a lifeless defeat to Wazzu and then losing to Bert by three scores, both at home.

As good as the Big Ten TV money is, Wisconsin still needs to get 75,000 fans a game. If you're boring, it's okay if you're going to Rose Bowls. I imagine McIntosh saw the trending from the two losses and people leaving. When the big donors want a change, it happens.

We're in a different world of college football and this gives Wisconsin first shot at two decent coaches.

Colorado is another debacle. They could be good if they really want to. Bieniemy could go there -- and become the latest coach to fail in Boulder. At least Tucker was smart enough to get out after beating Herm and Frost.

Colorado does seem like a lost cause. Conference affiliation is uncertain, local talent pool is shallow and resources have been lagging. I suppose we'll see.

Lance Leipold to Wisconsin seems like it would be a fit. If that were to happen, he would’ve done an amazing job leaving KU in a better position than when he arrived.

This was true of the Alvarez-as-AD era, and of Chryst, to be honest. The things a top end HC has to do, Chryst didn’t like to do, and it affected a lot of things.Wisconsin was behind in NIL, transfer portal acquisition, etc.

Chryst was gloriously lazy the three years he was head coach at Pitt.

Is the Briles name still toxic enough so he won't get a shot?

Colorado's problem was their opening came very late, after Tucker replaced the suddenly retired Dantonio in late February. I don't get that there is much enthusiasm for sports at Colorado - period.

Maybe Bobby Ross and Bill McCartney can return and settle the 1990 national championship next year in a non-con game.
