When Elena came in 1986 we did a special hurricane edition because it was coming right at Clearwater
But it stalled in the Gulf and sat before picking up and landing around Cedar Key
Just as well because none of our drivers showed up to distribute the special edition

Would not be surprised if there's a new inlet in the middle of either Sanibel or Captiva when this is over. Barrier islands have been forming and disappearing for centuries. It's only since the 1920s that somebody thought building permanent structures on them was a good idea.
