    Food refrigeration and freezing, maybe.

I used to live in Houston, and I simply cannot imagine living there without A/C. Tall windows, attic and ceiling fans, and sitting on the porch praying for the wind to blow the way the old folks there had to? Aww, hell no.

The opposite of that is heat. I've been to Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota a few times. I've always thought that people wanting to move there in Little House on the Prairie days were nuts.

I got the same letter 9 years ago from my auto insurance carrier from my last fender-bender. I considered it wise advice because the extra coverage wasn't that much more expensive.

I imagine YMMV for property the closer you are to the coast, of course.

Awesome point. Also the elevator, for cities.

    Raining in South Florida
    Next to nothing around Tampa
So far too weak to be officially named Alex

Say hello to Tropical Storm Bonnie ... soon to become Pacific Tropical Storm Darby, a unisex name if I ever saw one.

Bonnie obviously is transitioning. Please respect her their path forward.

Don't care about Bonnie. I'm scheduled to be looking directly at Colin later today.
I hope it passes quickly because we are supposed to see The Embers tomorrow night at the city park just before fireworks.

My first hurricane on the Carolina coast was Hurricane Bonnie in '98. Brings back fond memories of being too young and dumb to head inland every time the name gets recycled.

Whoever decides on the names for hurricanes blew it when they chose Colin instead of Clyde:
