That shot about how Tony wants to pay ex-WWE guys more was fun.

Too bad they just had a long and memorable feud between MJF and Punk. If this is all a work, the comparisons are obvious.
I just hope they're not planning to do an Austin-Vince thing. The lack of an Evil Authority Figure in AEW has been rather refreshing.

Followed by a fight between Rusev and John Morrison.

    "AEW Galaxy: Appreciate us!"

They're going for all the WWE keywords, aren't they?

Meh. Worked shoot. Solid promo, but a worked shoot.

After MJF had the mic and camera cut on him, Punk came out for some reason as Max hopped the rail.

And the uncensored end to the promo:

if they keep up with the records mattering, Punk’s only loss is MJF. Keep em away from each other, let Punk go undefeated for a year, and then milk that MJF being the one behind the one to be a huge story.

I'm wondering if this could lead to a deeper feud down the line between the AEW originals and the WWE guys.

You've got MJF talking about all the ex-WWE signings, you've got Hangman saying he wants to save AEW from Punk, you've got Britt Baker going at Ruby and Storm...

FWIW, the MJF segment aired on the West Coast feed. Given the show ran long, they could have cut it and stayed in the TV window.
