It has a history of letting shit go, this isn’t one of those incidents.

I've said this before. Find me a team in all of pro sports that hasn't employed a bad guy. Now understand if you offered one, you are either lying or ignorant. That is a different issue from using illegal and dirty tactics to win a game or a playoff series.

So you are telling me we are all part of the same hypocrisy?

That’s profound, I might steal it.

The part in bold is my point. On paper, the Rangers are the better team. Their advantage in goal alone is massive, especially with Jarry out. So much of what the Penguins did to take control of the series centered around Crosby. It is his skill with the puck. It is his leadership. It is his experience, which is probably Pittsburgh's biggest advantage in this series. Take him away, and I don't think they can do what they did to win games three and four.

What I am telling you is by your logic, nobody should ever root for any team.

There is nothing hypocritical at all about saying that teams shouldn't be able to steal games and even playoff series by head hunting unless the person in question defended it when their own team did it.

The guy started throwing elbows at the heads of Penguins 20 seconds into the game and finally took Crosby out by doing it. So yes, it is one of those incidents. One reason players and teams pull that shit is because the league has let it go forever. I'm sorry you don't understand that. I guess you don't really understand the game nearly as well as you think you do. It must be frustrating for an expert like you to be educated about the game by a casual fan like me.

That’s not what I was saying, but I can tell you that by my logic, discussing this with you is pointless.

It all comes around and goes around, that is my point. You are trying to carve out some sacred higher ground for yourself as a more pure fan, and it’s bullshit.

I do love the strategy of running away when the flaw in your argument has been demonstrated by the other side, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with you when you try it.

If you want to argue that the hit on Crosby wasn't dirty or illegal, fine. You would be wrong, but it is at least a reasonable opinion.

To say imply that I am being hypocritical for calling out the dirty play because my own team has employed bad guys in the past is ridiculous. To imply that I am being hypocritical because my own team has employed goons in the past is equally ridiculous. If you could demonstrate that I actually defended employing goons or a similar dirty hit by a Penguin, then that would be hypocritical, but I haven't seen anybody here doing that.

    It's so fucking stupid.

Both teams have been hitting, it's the playoffs. The idea that the Rangers are head hunting or playing to injure people is absurd in itself, but anyone who isn't a dip and has watched that series has seen way more questionable things than that hit (which was awkward, not dirty), much of it coming from the Pens.

I get why you feel that way, fanboy. Your team couldn’t win it clean, so they found another way.

By the way, I just saw a report confirming what we already know. Crosby has a concussion. His series is over. Even if the Penguins advance, I’m not sure they get him back given his history with concussions. The NHL’s commitment to player safety may actually be a bigger joke than the NFL’s.

You need more condescension in the part telling me that I would be reasonable but wrong. Lord knows you have no stake in this, and I should defer to your learned and objective opinion?

There is no flaw in my argument.

Did you actively call out Matt Cooke when he ended Savard’s career? If you didn’t, but you are pissing yourself over this, you are a hypocrite. Because you are outraged and calling out a much less questionable act when it goes against you. Like most fans, but you somehow want to be special.

Malkin got four games for a cross check this year. That’s a massive suspension for someone with his star privilege. Were you vocal about that? If not, why?

I don’t need to demonstrate sweet fuck all. But keep performing.
