We were about 25 rows up looking down on this when it happened last night. The sound the building made when it happened, and then the roar after...hockey, man:

If Josh Manson gets hurt tonight, that'll be all the former Ducks veterans traded at the deadline (Rakell), with no Deslauriers to clean up the mess.

I expect the Bruins to come out ready to drop the gloves. Might as well win the fights now.

Sorry, Moddy, but watching a chunk of this Panthers-Caps game that isn't very good and I find myself just being mad that this series can't be Ovechkin et al getting swept out on their asses anymore.

That said, with six of eight first-round series through two games, CAR-BOS is the only one that's 2-0, which is pretty good. Outside chance the NHL plays a Game 7 before the NBA even though they started two weeks earlier.

You have to feel bad for Ingram. Dude stands on his head but the defense couldn’t keep Colorado out of the offensive zone.

Not that anyone except me cares. ... but obersvations about the Rangers after 2 games. ... they won last night, but still are not playing that well. The encouraging thing is that it was a street fight of game and they held their own. The discouraging thing was that defensively they were not tight at all, made worse by Lindgren being out, and it was more like one of their early season kinds of games in which Igor hid the warts for them and the offense was good enough. Over two games, Sidney Crosby has shown why he is Sidney Crosby. Without him out there, the Rangers would be up 2-0 and the games wouldn't have been close. Mika has been too quiet if you are a Rangers fan, and Panarin had a weird game yesterday after being invisible in game 1. Offensively, he dazzled and created a lot and was in on 3 goals of the goals. But his looseness with the puck led to several high danger turnovers, including one pass that Crosby jumped that led to the Guentzel goal. I know Pittsburgh is down to a minor league goalie, but that was not the difference yesterday. Domingue played excellent yesterday and made some Igor-worthy saves. The Rangers should win this series, they are just the better team. And I shouldn't be looking ahead yet. But even though they won 5-2 yesterday, if they play that way against Carolina in the next round (if they ge tthere), they are going to get run out of the rink.

Caps really played like ass defensively after allowing that first goal. Oh well, they got the road split. That was the goal. Still don't think they win this series, but I definitely can see it at least going six. Need Wilson back in the worst way on Saturday afternoon.

You're entitled to your opinion. He's also arguably the Caps' third most important player behind Ovechkin and Carlson. They won't have any chance of winning this series without him. The dropoff to Brett Leason is, uh, substantial.

The home team on with John Forslund on the call? Excellent.

If it was half as loud as when Keith Primeau was wiped out there not long after he was traded away after whining in Raleigh, the sound had to be impressive.

(Bonus points if you can come up with who went to Raleigh in the deal without looking it up.)
