    When you think about it, the NBA doesn't have all that many storied franchises. Just a lot of teams that lost to the Celtics and Lakers.

    Between all the early moving around, odd ownership, and the ABA merger, the NBA doesn't have all the nostalgia of MLB.

    I read these sports anecdotes or odd sports trivia books growing up. My impression was early professional basketball was a joke. 'Cagers', crappy gyms in smaller cities.
