I hope when this passes that Travis McGee is still in Cedar Key.

Friend of mine rents a mobile home in Live Oak. They've evacuated to Dothan, Ala.

Thinking there's no way that home survives. :(

Travis McGee will always be in Cedar Key … in my mind.

That's what old John MacDonald said.
(even though JMcD never put McGee in Cedar Key)

What's the appeal of living in a place if homeowners insurance is either unavailable or inordinately expensive because of natural disasters that seem intent on making return visits?

Perry is famously where a black man passing though about 15 years ago stopped in a package store for a drink and was told he had to be served at the back.

The man was a state legislator.

Cedar Key is a wonderful little town. Nicest people in the world. Good hole-in-the-wall bars and restaurants. My wife and I have rented a condo there for the last eight Mays, missing only the covid year. We're sick at heart at what looks like a horrendous disaster.
