The NOAA forecast for the Outer Cape now shows rain and wind for next weekend, but winds under 20 mph so I doubt it's connected to Lee.

Sorry, this made me laugh. From today's forecast discussion.

"... the Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft that was in the storm earlier this afternoon continued to report that Lee has a small eye."

Reminds me of the Wood Eye joke.

Lee got sent down from the majors today, dropping to a Cat 2 with 105 mph winds. He's expected to regain major status by tomorrow morning and hold it through Thursday when making the big turn. It looks like now the eye wall will pass west of Bermuda and head straight north, possibly bringing weather to Nova Scotia. Look like most of the damage to the US will be in terms of strong surf and rip currents as he passes about 500 miles off shore.

Margot will become a hurricane early in the week but is a straight up fish storm. There are also two new waves rolling off Africa right now that are given low chances of development.

The GFS model suggests a landfall by Lee at or near Cape Cod next weekend.

    Most models don't have that.

My weekend forecast has low temps only in the mid-60s next weekend, which signifies a weakening of the continental trough.

Once the dang thing clears 34N, I don't care where it goes.

If you are in the Maritimes, maybe panic a little.

Halifax flooded in late July. Hope they don’t get a direct hit.
