2023 college baseball/softball thread

Great ending to the Microville Tech-Utah game today. Utah 2B is at bat in T9, two outs and trailing 11-4. He gets ahead 2-0 and then the pitcher throws two straight borderline strikes, both of which he complains about. On the 2nd strike the guy looks back at the ump, shakes his head, steps out of the box, thumps his chest, looks at his dugout. Meanwhile the pitch clock is running and it goes under 8 seconds and he hasn't gotten back in the box.

Strike 3, game over.

 

Brian Ferentz begins frantically packing for Costa Rica.

 

Wondering if Noah Darling is confused or if both the Hawks and Clones are involved.

 

Well, the first thing I thought of with the Brian Ferentz needs to average more than 24 points/game in 2023 to keep his job is, "where is the Iowa team total for each game?" and hit the over.

It's pretty simple with Iowa athletics and betting. Hawkeyes football first half UNDER and Hawkeyes men's basketball OVER and Iowa women's basketball to cover every road game and take the OVER for every home game.

 

What were the odds of Iowa State landing on this thread when they don’t even have a baseball team?

 

Couple of nice plays by the alma mater in the MW softball tournament today ... in the same inning!

 

Neither does Cleveland State, but the NCAA won’t let that stop them.

I noticed a couple of high school teams this season using those to call in signs to their catcher. The coach calling the pitches and the catcher both have bluetooth mics on. Guess it's not a stretch for hitters to try and use them as well.
