I can assure you, they have not, and I'm sure their adminstrators were secretly hoping Arkansas would win its regional to avoid the situation even coming up.

Special Olympics is no joke. Thousands of people in Terredise for that annually.

Bad, bad deal for Indiana State, but even creeping up on the optics of booting the Special Olympics is something the university wants no part of.

Scott Berry is a great story. He's done such a good job at Southern Miss. He's stepping down at the end of the season.

That's what the late Corky Palmer did, went out with a bang, in 2009. Berry was already in place as his successor.

Southern went down to Gainesville and punked the Gatahs, and Mr. Personality, Kevin O'Sullivan. They were competitive in one game in Omaha, at Rosenblatt, and then got waxed, by Texas, I think.

I know a lot of Mississippians would like to see the trifecta, and see USM win a national championship after Mississippi State and Ole Miss did the same.

I have serious doubts about that happening, but damn. Here they are. Congrats, Golden Eagles.

In their annual quest to screw West Coast baseball, the NCAA ends up with two supers on the Left Coast.

It's nice to have your AD on the committee who also has a son playing for the team. :)

Seats at PK Park that haven't been sat in since the last Super Regional there will now get dusted off.

That being said, USM did rank No. 1 in the nation in attendance by % of capacity (118.75%); Tennessee was fifth (100.36%). Vols' facilities are in for a major upgrade but currently are substandard vis a vis the rest of the SEC.

Southern Miss averaged 5,200 per game this season and was ranked No. 10 in the country in attendance, in a stadium that has a listed capacity of about 5,000.
They packed 6,000+ in there for the two super regional games against Ole Miss last season. They also had the highest average attendance of any mid-major team in 2022.
You greatly underestimate the passion for Southern Miss baseball.
