Guess so. Could've been worse, for sure.
That version of the lion reminds me of my NFL pillowcase and the early Silverdome days.

This story popped the other day - apparently Vick is up for the CFB HOF - and IMO he's a lock - the dog-fighting stuff came later.

Michael Vick reflects on one man who advised against dogfighting enterprise

It really took me back to how big that story became - obviously dog-fighting is horrible, but I think most of it was Vick's status in the league. He was probably Mahomes or at least Justin Herbert level of fame at that point in his career. And now, looking back - as horrible as the crime was - given what has transpired since with athletes and other celebrities - it seems like maybe a 6 on the outrage-0-meter if it would have happened today. Outrage Inflation?
Does it take more to get us pissed off these days? Has bad behavior by the famous become less shocking?

He was probably at a level just below Mahomes...not a Super Bowl-winner, but a Madden cover guy and, I think, a guy with lots of endorsements? Crazy how long ago that seems. Probably because in the interim, we've "elected" as president a racist rapist game show host who tried overthrowing the government when he lost his bid for re-election. So yeah, the bar has been raised/lowered.

Thing is, did we ever see Michael Vick's ceiling? Did anyone get out of Vick what Andy Reid and his staff got out of Patrick Mahomes?

For all we saw, I think there's still a "what might have been" feeling to Vick's career that we won't have to worry about with Mahomes.

If we were to learn that, say, Lamar Jackson was fighting, torturing and killing dogs for fun, I am pretty confident you would learn that our threshold for outrage on that hasn't changed much.

Wasn’t Vick pretty damn good post-incarceration in Reid’s offense in Philly?

I was at Arrowhead when the Chiefs punked Vick and Atlanta, winning, like, 56-10. That's all I gots.

Good enough that one reason Reid traded McNabb because he had Kevin Kolb, Kolb got hurt in the season opener against Green Bay, Vick was fantastic off the bench, led them to playoffs, Kolb was traded to AZ that offseason and Vick got another $100 million contract not long after.

Don't underestimate how much people hate anyone who abuses dogs.
