Van Natta is no slouch - but if anything, I thought the investigation and the leaked e-mails were pretty much the start of Snyder's downfall. Crazy that these e-mails may as well have been held by Trump at Mar-A-Lago. That they were "common knowledge" within a big chunk of the league for months before the story broke, doesn't really support the argument, that the leaking of them was what started the ball rolling. If the NFL wanted to dump Snyder, there MUST be other e-mails that could have Grudenized him over a couple of days. Why not leak those?

If Paul Warfield played today his average numbers would be about 120 receptions for 1,800 yards and 20 TDs. He's the reason the Dolphins had three 1,000-yard rushers in one season ... teams were dropping five or six into coverage to stop Warfield.

Well, that and the fact that no one else had a FB like Csonka to roll up 1,000 yards.

That was some story. Pretty interesting except, as you noted, for the parts where Gruden is painted as the good guy in all this. Sometimes everyone in a story is a shitheel.

Any story featuring Gruden automatically has at least one.

What due process does Gruden claim to want? He quit because he sent offensive emails. His “claim” seems to be that he deserves to know who leaked the emails? That there must be other embarrassing emails and that the people who sent them should be ridiculed as well?

Word to Gruden, once you send an email on a business account you have zero privacy rights and there is no due process.

One or more people definitely had an agenda with Gruden, deservedly or not. But he quit and wasn’t fired. Also, his sole motivation is just to embarrass others and expose the leakers. Not really a claim.

Amazing how many people used the leaks to stick a knife into how many more other people. So many different agendas were being served.

Just the worst people on the planet, all combining to somehow run the most popular sport on the planet.

I'm sure there are thousands of other awful emails out there from NFL people. But everyone is disposable to some degree, coaches second-most behind players. Even Goodell & other higher-ups managed to work up the nerve to get rid of the mob boss Synder. And eventually, Goodell will be disposable (not soon enough, though his replacement will surely be worse).
