Mike Vernon in the Hall of Fame is just mind blowing to me.

I heard the announcement today on SiriusXM and I was surprised, too. I wasn't even so sure about Barrasso, either, but I can admit to being wrong. Then they said Lundqvist and I felt they finally got it back on track. Then Vernon. I would never have come up with Vernon as a Hall of Famer.

Agreed. And it’s ridiculous that Mogilny can’t get in

Even Barrasso getting in is insane. His speech will just be insufferable.

I’m sure it made committee Chair Lanny McDonald happy.

Mike Vernon, the third-best Stanley Cup winning goaltender the Red Wings have had in my lifetime.

When I started playing goal after college, there was a poster of Barasso in the same Cooper leather gear at the local skate shop showing a tall goalie could excel. He broke Devils' fans hearts on one of those Cup runs with Pittsburgh. Barasso, JVB (whose Rangers stick I used and still have) and Sean Burke were my guys as I learned to play net.

The new Philadelphia regime is reportedly shopping Carter Hart. Might get a decent haul for him, but is Cal Petersen the answer? No.
Some good young pieces there, including the 24-year-old goalkeeper, but ... news bulletin: the Flyers have sucked.

Maybe a team in the Western Conference will pull off a Boston-like Martin Jones trade and bounce Hart to New Jersey.
EDIT: Hart will be 25 in August.

Preds put Ryan Johansen in the Free Kitten box; Avs pick him up and go halfsies on the contract.

Didn’t expect to see Alex Galchenyuk mentioned in a trade. I guess that’s all about the 50 contract limit.

Noticed yesterday (Friday) or the day before Elliotte was reporting Chicago had interest in signing Vlad Tarasenko.
His youth, modest contract and 18 goals of this past season would really aid the rebuild.
