Michkov almost fell to the Caps. Almost.

Not remotely the case as to why players want to leave Calgary.

Calgary hasn't done too shabby with its first two picks.
Samuel Honzek (Vancouver, WHL), left wing the Flames snared at 16 last night, probably would have gone higher had he not missed two months with a sliced leg at the World Juniors.
More intriguing future might be 16-year-old D-man Etienne Morin (Moncton, QMJHL) who CGY picked today 48th overall. Dan Marr of Central Scouting thought he might be first-round timber.
EDIT: Failed to state previously Honzek has been referred by some analysts as a center.

Everyone's picks were great (well, except for the Coyotes). ... until people are reevaluating 4 years later.

OK. Guess that includes the Rangers. :)
In other news, read a story the aforementioned Coyotes are exploring six other sites for a building. That franchise keeps on giving even when it can't.

Morin is 18. You can’t draft a 16 year old.

Thanks for the correction. And assuming my ignorance.

Almost the entire draft is 18 year olds. You thought his age was noteworthy, no need to get your hackles up.
