Bad Bunny needs some more work to show off, but he did really well with Priest against Miz and Morrison. Pat McAfee has done good things and really held his own against Adam Cole and the Undisputed Era guys in NXT.

I was going to say he's pretty good for a washed up athlete, but I can't believe he's still just 35.

Even Knoxville wasn't a total embarrassment last year, though Wee Man stole the show with his body slam of Sami. Still holding out hope for WeeLC II with Hornswoggle.

I noticed some of that during the Zayn-Owens part. They were really talking storyline and reality and what that storyline could mean for the future in regards to long-term storytelling.

These are great gestures from Owens, though.

I think Triple H talked about that as well.
It was odd to hear the questions asked and Owens and Zayn talking about the storytelling side of things; and then 10 minutes later people asking Ripley and Rey about beats in their story as if they were real — and Ripley and Rey answering them as though they were real. The reporters asking about the latter came across as dumbasses.

I have no great love for Logan Paul. I doubt his wrestling persona is very far removed from his actual persona, which is that of a vapid douchebag. But I have come to respect that he can do — and is willing to do — a lot more than just get by in the ring. He's really athletic, and moves naturally. A lot of the celebrities (and even a lot of the greener wrestlers on, say, NXT) look like they're thinking about every move as they're setting them up. They're very mechanical. He just does stuff and flows.

Triple H touched on that toward the end of his presser. He talked about how a lot of the recent celebrities have grown up with the product, are familiar with it, and have the proper respect for it, which makes them want to put in the work. Over the last five or six years you can definitely see a difference in those kinds of matches.

On reflection Night 1 delivered great wrestling, almost every match was better than I hoped.

I’m surprised there were no surpise endings or swerve finishes and I wonder if this is HHH creative — tell a story, end it satisfyingly (altho some like Dom/Rey probably arent over)

I believe that Evolution match is Melzters highest ever rated WWE womens match. Charlotte had a TV falls count anywhere match with Sasha that always stands out for

I dont know, Rhea/Flair was great, probably top
10 or 15 in the E, but Meltzers comment seemed hyperbolic esp for a guy thats never given a WWE womens match 5 stars

Logan Paul probably could have been a college athlete of some kind, if he hadn't gotten involved in the YouTube stuff that has, admittedly, made him very rich. At least according to Wikipedia, he was an All-State linebacker in Ohio, and also qualified for the state wrestling tournament. If he came of age 20+ years ago, he probably just focuses on football or pro wrestling or boxing from the jump.

There's got to be some kind of fluff planned between the Cell match and the main to buffer the two intense matches. Guessing the only reason Edge/Finn match is later is because they need the night time for the entrances. The expected Brood entrance wouldn't nearly have the same effect if it was still 5:00 in the afternoon and sunny.

Maybe Miz issues another open challenge and gets beaten up by Michael Cole.
