One of the supposed reasons that Drury and Gallant didn't work was that Drury didn't have a relationship with him at all before he hired him. Hynes and Chris Drury were teammates for three years at Boston University. I really don't want Hynes as coach of the Rangers.

Below is a misterbc take from about a month ago. Pretty good one, IMHO.
No question Calgary will miss Tre. The only 2 v bad moves he made were signing Brouwer and, the killer, was giving James Neal his totally undeserving contract which hamstrung the franchise for the last 5 years. He even won the trade to get rid of Neal but Lucic in the lineup was an albatross Flames could not afford. Two bad moves over 9 years is pretty impressive for any sports General Manager.
Also, he should have fine-tuned the scouting department who for many years has been one of the worst in the NHL.

In so far as the Leafs, I suppose it would come down to autonomy.

Darryl needs to be put out to the Alberta pastures with Brian.

In case you missed it, Kyle Dubas wasn't unemployed long. New president of hockey ops and interim GM in Pittsburgh.

He transitioned very well from the guy who was teaching listeners hockey (before "rules games") to a straight broadcast. Great pipes too, second only to Jon Miller among Bay area pxp guys. Only games he missed were when he was in a major auto wreck (henalso announced the San Jose Grand Prix, or whatever the street race was called).

Just wish they could get back on terrestial radio.

Could be wrong but don't think another New Haven Nighthawks alum, Nick Nickson, is on terrestial anymore either.

You're right. Kings radio only available online and through the iHeart app.

Great guy. He used to do the PA at Dodger Stadium in addition to his Kings duties. I never understood why he wasn't bumped up to the TV booth after Bob Miller retired. He is in the Hall of Fame, too.
