I was living in Northern Virginia in 2009-2010. One of my son's, as a requirement for his PE Class, had to do something at a gym. so I hauled both my sons to a court at a Gold's Gym. It was Friday night so there was only one other player there, practicing at the other end. The guy was clearly extremely good.

I got to talking to him and asked him where he played. He said he had played at George Mason. This was after Mason's run to the Final Four but before Larranaga went to Miami. I asked the guy what he thought of Larranaga and he said in was OK, which I thought was a non-committal answer. Every time I had seen an interview with Larranaga it always seemed to be about him talking about how great he was. So I said I would have found it difficult to deal with four year's of Larranaga's endless narcissism. The guy gave me a fist bump.

I am going to like this and unlike it on a continuous loop just so I can keep feeling the rush of liking it.

Larranaga is such a phony fuck. Guy made the Final Four w/three stars he poached using Lifelock money and then has the gall to complain a bunch of kids transferred after the Final Four run. Fuck off asshole.

Vegas Bowl has gone full Sickos mode. And @Songbird is right that Lincoln Riley needs to be rehomed.

Went to the ESPN MBB home page to check Saturday's schedule. The sheer amount of absolutely BS games between D1 teams and NAIA, DII, DIII and other schools I have never, ever heard of (La Sierra? Westcliff? College of Biblical Studies?) is amazing.

One thing I appreciate about Nate Oats (which doesn’t exactly balance the karmic scales but I digress) is that he doesn’t do body bag games. UNC-Asheville was the only real tomato can on the home schedule. Even the likes of McNeese and Kent State are near the top of their respective leagues.

Throw out the records when UNC Wilmington plays Spartanburg Methodist!

These non-DI games are terrible but a fact of life for mid-majors, for whom it's impossible to fill out a sked b/c all the big boys are too chicken shit to play them.

That’s true, but mid-majors also want their own body bag games, so they’re also chicken shit to schedule each other too.

Old Dominion is playing Virginia Wesleyan, a DIII. At least they're within about 10 miles of each other.

Baylor MBB played something called Arlington Baptist last night.

Eastern Illinois hosts a winless Division III school (Blackburn) that refuses to acknowledge this game is being played, even as an exhibition. Unlike the other non-DI body bags I sampled, the ESPN app is unable to pull up their stats leaders or even their nickname. (They are the Beavers out of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, as I’m sure you already knew.)

And he has no problem going on the road either. Has played at both of the Dakotas the last couple years…..home and home with Creighton……played in Canada last year against Purdue (for Edey)
Yeah. He’s not scared of flying.

Only one roadie to the Dakotas but we tend to play SD State regularly in a hell-for-leather matchup of similar styles. I actually have a ticket for that game tomorrow.
