The three teams yours truly follows the most closely are on the road tonight. Columbus needs to avert a replay of its disastrous trip a month ago to California and Seattle. Jackets lost Tuesday to Calgary. Edmonton tonight. Detroit takes on Ottawa. Possible first NHL start for Sebastian Cossa. St. Louis is out west, too. Impressive win at Winnipeg Tuesday. Blues play Calgary. With the Lions hosting Green Bay, I'm in store for a lot of channel bouncing.
Husso may be reclaiming Detroit's net. Was not bad vs. Boston. Very good against Ottawa tonight. EDIT: Bad goal late.
Watched Utah beat Buffalo 5-2 this afternoon. Sixth straight loss for the Sabres. Most of us know it's been a minute or million since the Sabres made the playoffs. What I didn't realize is their 13-season playoff drought is the longest in NHL history.
Watched Las Vegas and Dallas last night: T-Mobile is damned nice … wide walking areas, comfy seats, ample amenities, fucking loud inside Fans are (or were last night) into the game, loud, supportive … unlike the dead zone in Nashville at the last game we attended Uber pickup-dropoff area at MGM Park sucks dog balls. Music was good, and not Penelope and the Pumpkin City Pickers warbling at intermission Didn’t eat or drink so don’t know about that Game was pretty good. Would recommend.
Glad you had a good experience. Haven't been there myself but everyone I know who has raves about the atmosphere. That includes a high school classmate who is now a Las Vegas-area elementary teacher. She knew little about hockey ... but got hooked, pun intended.
I usually get a dog and brew but we stuffed ourselves at Lotus before the game. Hell of a lot going on this weekend here.
Have no love for the Golden Knights, but last time we were in Vegas was in September a few years ago, and even in the off-season, it felt like a great energy for them in the surrounding area, lots of Golden Knights gear on people. That put it on my list to go see a game there sometime.
Seattle defeated Rangers at MSG 7-5 today. Later this afternoon the Jackets will try salvage something from their trip west and it won't be easy at Winnipeg. Maybe Buffalo will snap it's skid tomorrow. Sabres host the Wings.
You cannot give Winnipeg power plays. The Jackets escaped the first three but during the fourth, Kyle Connor made them pay. 1-0 late in the second. EDIT: Jackets get one back on PP. 1-1 headed to third.
Caps have won nine in a row on the road. Next opportunity comes Thursday in Columbus, where the Jackets have been pretty good (8-3-1 at home).
