Tropical storm Gordon has formed. All the models have it as a fish storm.

Well, no more drought around here for a while.

We had wind today that had to be off the recent hurricane. It was super nice day, but the wind was off the chart all day long.

The flooding in the towns south of Wilmington has been nuuuuutz. Some outlets are calling it a 1,000-year rain event. I hope so.

Some of the beach erosion photos I've seen today are absolutely nuts for that part of the state.

I just read a story where people were stranded on Highway 17 for 12 hours because of flooding, and some vacationers in Carolina Beach lost three cars.

I saw that too. Thankfully my loved ones in Brunswick Co. stayed inside and their neighborhood didn't flood. The pictures of New Hanover County deputies taking elementary school kids home in their "high water vehicle," aka a repurposed troop transport/tactical vehicle, after school were sorta mesmerizing too.

Between this one and the big unnamed storm that hit the east coast the last couple of days, these things forming so far west is certainly troublesome.
I'm just hoping Oct. 1 passes as normal.

Starting to look grim for the Redneck Riviera.

That unnamed depression last week would've been Helene, so likely that's what this one will be named. But really, it's an I storm.
