Jacksonville State and Troy played a fun one Wednesday night.
Troy led 9-0 after the third inning. Jacksonville State scored 10 in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead. Then Troy scored nine more in the sixth through eighth innings and won 18-10.
Jacksonville State shattered a Division I record by using 15 pitchers. The previous record was 13. Of the record 15 pitchers used by Jacksonville State, four did not record an out and eight didn't complete a full inning.

Wasn't watching it, but there was a bizarre scenario in the Mississippi State-Georgia game tonight. Georgia player hits a double, which leads to a play at the plate. The runner tries to slide headfirst, which I guess Mississippi State's catcher interpreted as trying to plow into him. The catcher gets pissed off, which leads to some shouting as the dugouts clear. There wasn't a fight.

After a 40-plus minute replay delay, a total of 11 players were ejected — six for Mississippi State and five for Georgia — with all of them being starters. The ejected players will be suspended for Sunday's series finale.
A bunch of Georgia players apparently escaped ejection and suspension because while they came out of the dugout (which should be an ejection), they were wearing hoodies and couldn't be identified. Mississippi State's players who were ejected were on the field already, so their coach Chris Lemonis was pretty pissed.

Wait. 40-plus-minute replay delay? That in itself is fucking absurd.

Makes no sense at all throwing out the whole team (that was already on the field) for being on the field.

The SEC suspended five players — two from Mississippi State and three from Georgia — for Sunday's game. Mississippi State loses its starting catcher and third baseman. Georgia loses two of the three catchers on its roster and a relief pitcher.
The two Georgia catchers are the starter and his backup. The only other one on the roster is a guy who hasn't played a game this year. So we're officially on emergency catcher alert today.

That catcher is an idiot if he thinks that's a dirty play. He should have been tossed immediately. "It just means (we're) more (stupid)."

I don't think anyone had a problem with the catcher getting tossed. Lemonis was upset that his guys who were coming off the field and had to pass the home plate area where the fracas was got ejected. Especially in a 2-2 game in the eighth inning, when they're already fighting to get out of the middle of the pack in the SEC. It's not a stretch to say that cost them the game.
