Neither the Second Banana of the Big Bend nor any ag school in South Carolina is going to command the market share of the University of Texas.

Looking at their schedule, I can see a path to 9-3 or 8-4 and missing the playoffs. They play at Michigan and Georgia at home. Then throw in hiccups against Oklahoma, Kentucky or Texas A&M and we're all enjoying some tasty Schadenfruede.

And basketball. And softball. And baseball.

    All of them.

Out this way the Pac 12 was all excited after they got a deal with ESPN, no longer was their ONE national game on FS1 at 7:30 PST. (They did get regional games with ABC). So they're playing on Thursdays, and Fridays and having two or three games in the 7 p.m. PT slot now and coaches and fans were bitching about the late starts....

OSU's home schedule this year has wonderful kickoff times. No late night 7, 7:15, 7:30 or 7:45 kickoffs on Pac-12 or FOX, and the only Friday game is over TG weekend so it's no big deal.

Oregon and Washington get two Friday night games each and the Huskies have a Friday night game at Rutgers.

Some of those Big 10 fanbases are going to be hating it having to stay up past midnight and 1 a.m. to see the west coast games.

Schiano was already complaining about an 8 p.m. PDT start at USC on Friday, Oct. 25, 11 p.m. EDT. That team is going to be totally jet-lagged by the time it gets home.

Very true. Although I hardly think the Big Ten poohbahs cared a whit what Schiano and Rutgers thought when it came time to make policy.

I do think there are many associated with the Big Ten who aren't 100% invested in, or in favor of, the West Coast Auxiliary Branch. But they want to keep their jobs so they keep their mouths shut.

Just imagine how they'll feel if Oregon comes in and wins the conference in the first year.

For a legendary football factory with unlimited resources, Texas has done a remarkably shite job of contending in the current era.
