Ron Cook has been this guy for 30 years. The only thing worse than his columns is his radio show, which is four hours of dumb opinions like this.

Wouldn't shock me if Tomlin left. Not getting a contract extension before this season probably gnaws at him. Couple that with the lack of respect he might be feeling locally for dragging the Steelers into the playoffs and he might be ready to spend a year yucking it up on NFLN.

Tomlin to the Cowboys who in their first year together beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl would be fun.

As much as I hate the Cowboys....Tomlin going there and sticking to the Steeler fans would be tremendous.

Tomlin's boys put it out there every time it's open that he'd take the Washington job. If I were the Rooneys I'd offer to let him out of his contract and go. We'll see if he puts his money where his mouth is.

Tomlin made the playoffs with a severely flawed team, one with no real quarterback. The Steelers would be daft to let him go. He ain't perfect, but the chance they could do better is small.

The Rooneys aren't firing Tomlin. He only leaves on his own.

Why would they do that? He is under contract. If they want him to stay and he wants to go elsewhere, he can either sit out a year and wait or that other team can trade for him.

Cook was a cranky old bastard 20 years ago and the decades haven't improved his disposition any, but why are you criticizing a columnist for offering an opinion?
