Wither Vrabel? And what's going on in DC?

For all the "scoop guys" in the league - its interesting that you aren't hearing much about the hiring process this cycle. Why this coach and not that coach. The non-salary demands etc.

I think Bienemy's window is closed. The bloom is off the rose after the disaster of a season he had as OC in D.C.

For once there isn't a loudmouth owner in D.C. leaking like a sieve. Good for Josh Harris' team.

I have a hard time Belichick hits the casket without going somewhere to try and beat Shula.

I could almost see him returning to KC.
    Nagy won’t be back.

I wonder if the remaining teams are holding out for a coordinator still in action.

They were 3-13 in '09 w/rookie QB Josh Freeman backed up by Josh Johnson (yikes) and Byron Leftwich (double yikes) and a defense that gave up 400 pts. They went 10-6 in '10 and missed the playoffs*** while the Packers, with the same record, won it all. Then they fell apart in '11 and lost their final 10 games on the way to finishing 4-12. They did a very Buccaneers thing by replacing Morris, a young players coach type of guy, with meathead Greg Schiano, who figured everything was like Rutgers. It was not and they had one winning season in the next eight years before Brady decided to go there and stick it to Belichick. (Though to be fair to Schiano, he was 100% correct that Josh Freeman was a space cadet who wasn't a franchise QB) It's not like Morris was the reason the Bucs stunk. They stunk b/c they're the Bucs. As @PCLoadLetter notes, he deserves another shot. Maybe it won't work out in Atlanta but if you can win 10 games with Josh Freeman, you can probably figure out a way to win 10 games with just about anyone.

***the next team to go 10-6 and miss the playoffs was the '12 Bears, who responded to that by firing Lovie Smith, their most successful post-Ditka coach, to begin their decade-plus in the wilderness. Smith, of course, ended up as the Buccaneers coach who succeeded the coach who succeeded Morris. Life is one giant circle of misery @QYFW @Regan MacNeil!

Reminds me of how the Astros did Bo Porter wrong when they were young and getting killed most nights but playing hard and growing ... then Hinch arrived and took 'em over the top.

Maybe McDermott has gone about as fer as he can go with the Bills and it's time to bring in Big Gun Belichick.

    That would be phenomenal.

I think Bienemy showed his value more with what "didn't" happen in KC this year than what he did in DC. And who knows, if Reid decides to call it quits this year....

Reid is going nowhere as long as Mahomes is in his prime window. And no chance that Bienemy gets back to the Chiefs.

If they wanted him to follow Reid, they would have guaranteed it in writing.

It's been discussed before, but Reid's coached at the complete expense of his family life for 30-odd years now. This is all he does. As long as he's healthy, he's not going anywhere. And at this rate, he may get to Shula before Belichick. Which would be hilarious and awesome.
