It’s great that they did that.

Going back 30+ years, when the Forbidden Door was never in anyone’s imagination, Heenan holding Big Goldie, mentioning “another organization” and saying Flair’s name blew everyone’s pre-Internet mind.

Wow. The four-way is going second. I'm shocked.

Roman loses and muscles his way into the Rumble?

Something is going to happen at the end or after the Rumble. Crowd loves Rock, but I can't imagine they would have him win at the expense of Cody or Punk. I think they'd revolt at something like that.

McAfee is definitely getting in the ring. During the women's Rumble match Cole mentioned how he holds the record for an announcer at a minute and 24 seconds, and they had a quick exchange about it. There's no way they drop that hint and McAfee doesn't jump in to pay off the point one way or the other.

Or when not even Rock could get the fans to cheer when Roman won a year or two later. I mean, the fans booed REY MYSTERIO that year.

That was ... a match. It's just rinse, repeat with Roman by this point.

OK, so when Orton and Knight were pinning each other and the ref was in there, why couldn’t he count both men’s shoulders? It’s a double-pin.

Just because it’s a Fatal Fourway doesn’t make sense.

They claimed it was because they each had both shoulders down. But yeah, that was pretty cheap reasoning.

If it wouldn't mean ending Roman's historic title reign — which, let's be honest, needs to happen clean at Wrestlemania at this point — that would be an awesomely screwy finish. Solo stacks up Knight and Orton for emphasis, takes himself out, and the ref sneaks in to count the pin while Roman is gloating.

    Rumble match tiers:
    Favorites: Punk and Cody
    Got a chance: Drew McIntyre
Would be intriguing, but probably not: Damian Priest, Gunther
Dark horses: Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Solo, Shinsuke, Rock
No chance in hell: Everyone else. As great as it would be to see them strap the rocket to someone like they did with Drew a few years ago — like Gunther — I don't think this is the year for it when you have Punk and Cody sitting on deck with the bases loaded.

I could maybe see one of the Usos or Solo winning it, though. Then Roman puts the pressure on them to challenge Rollins, only for them to revolt and take another run at Roman. Could work for Solo, especially, as he plays up the idea that he's saved Roman's ass so many times, and since he hasn't had his turn challenging Roman yet.
Or the Rock's totally unexpected return happens and he wins. Other than that it feels like it's got to Punk or Cody.

Horrible ending to a solid match between Owens and Paul. It would make sense a little if Owens had never been a heel that pulled that kind of stuff, but he’s a veteran heel who would know to ditch the brass knucks. Makes zero sense for him to keep them in in full sight of everyone. William Regal would be very disappointed.

I guess I can jive with the Owens/Paul finish. I'm thinking we'll get something like a ladder match at Mania, like they've been apt to do for the second-tier belts.

Getting tired of these Tampa/St. Pete ads. They're pimping the area more than they do for the Saudi shows.
