That got weird and uncomfortable. Reading E's Players Tribune essay first made it even more of a gut punch than a literal gut punch would have been.

 

I was hoping to get the "Aww, Everett. Don't you dare be sour..." or for him to come out of the Booty-O's box.

I hate it as a fan, but that was amazing drama. Sign me up for what's next.

 

On the same night: a New Day heel turn and Gunther face turn? Seems to be planted for Seth to have attacked Jey, too, so another heel turn there?

 

Damn. A fire rebuttal from E's lady (and Mia Yim's sister):

 

Oh, shit. That was a killer ending. WWE puts out one of the best Raws of the year as 2024 is about to end. Just on the strength of the opening promos, New Day EXPLODES and the surprise return of Drew.

 

That ending to that column was terrific.

 

When New Day was heel back in the day, they were more of fun, sniveling heels. That great segment with the Rock (long live the llama penises) for example.

Here, they're going to be purely hated. Kofi has been close to Steamboat or Sting in how tough it is to dislike him, but this is going to be a great test.

 

Of all the ways people fantasy booked that I dont think a single person had Kofi and Woods BOTH turn on E on the bingo card. Amazing stuff.

 

NXT sure loves its cliffhangers and whodunnits.
