This might quickly turn into their "Fingerpoke of Doom" moment.

Remember when this was AEW's most infamous moment?

The stuff with Joe and Swerve was just about all that succeeded tonight.

Along with Dustin's blood fest and everything around the Elite...

Adam vs. Penta was a matter of trying too hard to have a banger of a match.

The Mercedes interview was a reminder that she was not the promo star of the Horsewomen. And the trope of lights go out, lots of noise is made, and it shows she's "beaten up."

Toni's segment was maybe the most meh of anything she's done with her current gimmick, and the stuff with May and the Stardom chick (which practically no one had an ounce of knowledge about) was just weird.

As over as Ospreay has been, even his dig at Trips came off as forced. Renee even looked uncomfortable at it, which was not the look you'd want from your interviewer.

And the camera work was awful. The fast zooms in and out were horrible. It's like Kevin Dunn had just gotten hired.

Rude actually appeared on both shows on the same night because, as strange as it sounds now, Raw wasn’t live every week (hence WCW infamously giving away Raw results).

It was an early version of “what at a time to be alive” as a pro wrestling fan.

I really wish I could be privy to the backstage conversations that led to them showing that footage. PR-wise, it's such a bungle. If you wanted to respond to CMP's podcast interview, then just have TK release it on socials without putting it on TV. If you saw a chance to use it in kayfabe to further YB vs. FTR, did anybody consider making a guy in another promotion the good guy was a bad idea?

I'm with FTR Hairy - "Why are we still talking about this!?!"

Because Tony was desperate to stake his claim to that 2024 WrestleCrap Gooker Award?

I'm an AEW fan but that show was a complete dud. There were hotter crowds at Daley's Place during Covid. I've been a Jericoholic forever but this angle is going nowhere.

I’ve said before, but Tony Khan is the worst possible combination of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo.

The shot of Tony Schiavone with his head in his hands has me wondering just what JR would’ve been muttering to himself going to commercial after the footage aired

It just reeks of Jericho leeching off a young talent's popularity to remain in the spotlight. Hook was already hugely over as the young killer. It's not like he needed the "rub" from Jericho.

Totally and even he didn't look interested in it, that promo thing before the match was awful

I want AEW to do well because competition is good and having competing companies can be fun as long as you don’t take it too seriously like some IWC fans do. Vince’s shenanigans aside, having competition has made the E step up their creative game (no pun intended).

But it’s just been a slog with AEW lately. While they had some growing pains in the first couple of years, it looked like they were having fun out there and that translated to their audience. They seemed like they were doing the right thing more often than not, and were listening to their fans. Now it seems like they’re trying too hard and failing.
