Martinook’s ‘save’ could have been the stuff of legends but instead it will just be something that went viral for 30 minutes on Twitter.

Andersen is done. Dude let in too many softies and completely lost his balance on the first goal tonight and another goal against NYI.

Yeah, that Martinook saved goal would have been the stuff of legends.

As a Rangers fan. ... that game was. ... well, ridiculous and joyous. Chris Kreider played that third period like a man possessed. It was actually the whole team, he was just in front of the net at the end of what was some dominant play. They just turned it on.

Who could have seen that coming? The last few years, they have been talented, but would fold in tough series. This game, they just made up their minds that they weren't going to let it get to a game 7.

When Kreider scored the go-ahead goal, I reflexively let out the loudest "Yeah!" I have ever screamed. Like loud enough for my neighbors to hear it. That's so not me usually.

So my friend who had tix to Game 5 bought a couple for the viewing party at MSG last night. I tagged along again. Had a good time. Got to see the anthem this time! My friend was excited as he got his picture taken with Ron Greschner ("How do you not know him? He was married to Carol Alt!") and Tom Laidlaw.

After the second period my buddy wanted to leave. Demanded it. "I can't be here to watch this anymore." I said come on, it's two goals, they get a quick one they're right back in it. Let's not leave yet. You'll regret it if they come back and we're on the subway during it. He again said, no, it was time to leave. I put my hand on his shoulder and said just sit down and watch the game. Then...

Now, I get it. During Game 7 of 2010 NBA Finals I left my apartment and wandered upper Manhattan because I couldn't take the fiasco from Kobe and LA anymore, only to come back just in time to see World Peace hit the dagger 3 for the Lakers. So I understand not wanting to watch your team flail and fall apart. That said, am I going to hold this over him for the rest of his life, the fact that I'm the reason he stayed and got to watch one of the great wins in franchise history? Absolutely.

That is awesome. I actually thought about going to the Garden last night. Not too hard, but I got the text for it and thought about it for a split second.

You should hold it over your friend's head.

Yeah, Ron Greschner was married to Carol Alt. Gresch was actually a hell of a hockey player and he was captain of the Rangers for a season or two. I remember when I was younger, thinking that Ron Greschner had a face like a clenched butt cheek (I've met him, and I think he might agree). ... yet he was married to Carol Alt. Which made me question why I hadn't practicing skating a little more. Kind of like Billy Joel and Christy Brinkley. ...Why didn't I keep up with the piano lessons?!?

I am so rooting for Boston tonight, but I am not hopeful they can win 2 in a row. I think it's a pipe dream .This time of the year, they're all good teams and everyone plays their asses off, but Florida is objectively the tougher team for the Rangers to face next.

You should have reminded him a two-goal lead is the worst lead in hockey.

Carol Alt, definitely in my all-time top 5 non-blonde list. I've never seen the whole Howard Stern movie, but I have seen the airplane scenes when, in his mind, her boobs start growing and growing and .....

WTF is a Rock Lobster? Hey, I grew up Yankee and now live out west. Please excuse my ignorance of local Athens history.

If we're taking about things Georgian, I kind of like the Athens "Bleach Blonde Bad Built Butch Bodies" better. Or the Athens 6Bs.

Perhaps they will feature boys in bikinis, girls with surfboards.

A local band might have mentioned something about them once upon a time.
