Cowboys cut the cord on superannuated DeMarcus Lawrence, make moves to shore up linebacker.

I keep waiting for Tom Brady to actually close the deal on someone other than a supermodel.

Like locking down a massive upgrade at QB?

Honestly, the team would have been better off sticking Minshew and goin 4-13 again, at least then they could have hopefully solved the problem with a four-year solution (at least) by drafting a rookie QB. Geno will get them to seven wins, but that gets you nowhere.

You’re so wrong. You didn’t even know when free agency started.

Raiders released Gardner Minshew with failed physical designation

I give Minshew credit, he got a lot of milage out of going 7-13 and leading the league in lost fumbles as a starter with Jacksonville.

Vegas didn't hire a 72-year-old coach to go 4-13 with a serviceable backup QB.

No, they hired him to go 8-9 with a decent but that's all starting QB. Hey, for the Raiders 8-9 is a big step up, I was only partly sarcastic.

I, for one, hope the Raiders fuck this up like everything they've done for the last decade.

Admittedly, the Raiders are paying for several years of unproductive drafts and they've been spinning their wheels for a while. I don't know if they'd be in a much different place if they just kept Carr all along. Gruden and McDaniels both wanted "their kind of players" and for every Maxx Crosby and Brock Bowers there was an Alex Leatherwood, Henry Ruggs, Damon Arnette, and Cleilin Ferrell. You don't even want to look at the players drafted after them.
