Interesting story about a Falcons superfan called "the Birdlady" who was arrested at a game in November and booked for felony theft. She allegedly ripped off a bunch of Chiefs fans — and some others over the years — by taking $14,000 to stage a tailgate party she did not deliver on. Seems like she's a little batshit crazy, too. After fizzled tailgates, Falcons superfan 'Birdlady' faces criminal charges
If you are a "superfan" who is known to people at games, police should just view that as probable cause. There is absolutely something wrong with you. It's just a question of what your felony of choice might be.
Remember Zach Martin? He was the OL the Cowboys drafted when Johnny Manziel dropped to them. He’s retiring after nine seasons and is a likely HOFer. Manziel (if he’s not in jail) is chasing likely heifers.
I've met one fan like that. Joe Ruback is a Giants fan known as License Plate Guy. He goes to every game and he is hard to miss. He is also the athletic director at a private school. A conversation with him can be a bit of a wild ride and he predicts the Giants will win every game by 50, but I always thought he was harmless. Of course, he was arrested in 2014, but the charges were dropped.
I think a lot of those people probably start to live the gimmick once they get a bit of attention and are probably insufferable to watch a game near. See: Fireman Ed.
The Phoenix Suns had Mr. ORNG, the season ticket holder who painted his body orange for every game. He was a high school coach in town. My station did a few puff pieces on him. He’s currently awaiting trial for sex crimes with children.
First guy I thought of. In his defense, so far, all we can say for sure about him is that he's just an insufferable ass.
