From his physical looks (and what little behavior we saw in the episode) he me be playing a very similar character to the one from "Pushing Daisies," a shady guy who stirs up trouble among the main characters.

    I think he's a bounty hunter.

Not so fast. Jack Bauer may not be running out of time...

20th Century Fox has approached NBC about picking up the series 24 should Fox decide to cancel it.

I must have watched the teaser trailer 20 times since 2MCM sent me the link. I just hope it isn't another big let down.

Please don't let this be true.

I was thinking of the best way to end 24.

End of season 5. Jack takes the phone call and it's his daughter, who wants to reconcile. Jack just took down Charles Logan and his elaborate plot, got the guys who killed his friend David Palmer, got the hot blonde Audrey, and is now ready to settle down with his daughter.

But, no, Jack takes the phone call and it's a setup for the Chinese.

Bleh. END THIS SHOW. It's already limping away on one bad leg and the other is about to give out.

I would be up for one more season. I thought Season 7 was great, and although they've dropped the ball so far this year, if they knew that Season 9 was going to be the last one on TV and would serve as a lead in to the movie(s), I think they could come up with a pretty good story. Not having to wrap everything up in the 24 hours could give them some new freedoms in writing the show.

Also, I don't want the show to end like it's going right now, unless they really wow us here coming down the stretch. What worries me is the fact they're talking to NBC means they didn't intend on this being the last season on air, so they could be forcing the issue trying to wrap things up near the end. I'd rather them have a whole offseason to plan for a big going-out party.

I had a pretty hopeful mindset about the show in each of the last three seasons (including this one) but it took 2-3 hours each day to crush those hopes. I feel like I've given the benefit of the doubt for too long (I suffered through seasons 6 and 7) and stopped watching this season after, I believe, five episodes.

So, I don't believe they can salvage the show knowing when they'll end it or knowing they can play it into a movie. I have lost confidence.

I don't like being the downer. Sorry about that.

Season 6 was great simply because it gave us Jack's most awesome and gruesome kill. Season 7 sucked something fierce.

I guess loving the NYPD isn't on the patriotic to-do list anymore. They are introduced as a bunch of incompetent ninnies simply in order to get some action and a bunch of guys shot.

OK, I know this goes against the grain here, but ...

I'm looking forward to next Monday's episode.

    No spoilers, please.

    How good was tonight's episode?

Tonight's episode was better than most of the episodes this season, but still not a great episode.
