Finally saw the SMU doc tonight. Loved it.

I lived in Dallas right before SMU got busted when Dickerson and James were in their prime. That team turned me on to college football. Loved SMU back then.

I didn't realize SMU was undefeated the year Penn State won the title.

I saw the last 30 minutes of the SMU one last night. Need to DVR it.

I see the next one is Bartman. I can't wait to see that one.

Richard Deitsch tweeted that there's going to be doc on Michigan's Fab 5 in March.

This ought to be interesting. Rev. Ken Fairley, who was cast as the villain with his hands out in the Marcus Dupree documnetary, is suing ESPN for libel. Fairley claims he was not given a chance to respond to what Marcus claimed about all that New Orleans Breakers money vanishing into Fairley's pockets.

I know Fairley pretty well and it is not in the man's DNA to simply keep his mouth shut and have everyone think he's a douchebag. He has to spout off and confirm it in front of God and everybody.

    I'd forgotten Scuzzlebutt was involved!

Will Albom's heart-string-tugging fish sticks story be in there?

One can only hope the Dwarf is portrayed as a sap in this, turning his head for the sake of book sales.
Sadly, since he does work for ESPN, I would tend to doubt it.

I struggle to see anything actionable in that documentary about the man. Perhaps I am just trained to know what will get you into trouble and I know that courts and lawyers are bound to see things differently than will journalists, but I just didn't see anything that made him look that bad.

On Dec. 30, I DVRed "Guru of Go" I was really excited about seeing it. Ended up getting about 20 minutes of a hour-long documentary. First it didn't start on time due to SportsCenter running long, then they cut in with about 25 minutes of the Holiday Bowl. Dang it. It's not scheduled to be on anytime soon. :(

More 30s I would like to see.

The passing over of Dan Marino in the NFL Draft.

    The 1985 Pittsburgh drug trials.

The NCAA basketball season that had the 17'9" three pointer, The Pit hosting the finals and NC State winning it all.

    The 1987 New York Mets

    Tony Manderich
