Benji showed in Chicago this week.. supposed to be gritty and very powerful. Looking forward to that one.

 

You guys saved me from even pressing play on my dvr. This Kansas one does not sound interesting.

I liked the Ice Cube one on the LA Raiders...

 

Snoop had no business being there. he was pimping the Steelers when they won it all.

I didn't like that one at first, but now I understand the attempt to put it into L.A. and west coast hip-hop context. And to actually get The Demon Animating Al Davis' Dead Flesh to sit for an interview was great.

 

Benji has been on demand on FIOS for at least the past few weeks.

 

Did his jaw look much different now?

I thought the doc did a poor job explaining the alleged manipulation of Johnson's test. Could the test be manipulated by placing a pill in the beer? What was the protocol for access to drink by Johnson when he got in the testing room?

To me the story was simple -- athlete who has doped for years gets hurt shortly before the biggest meet of his life and is more brazen about his doping.

 

I mentioned this earlier in the thread but what he testeted poitive for would not have been something any decent athlete would have been cycling on that close to a competition.

Winstrol is a horse steroid that is not very sophisticated. Given that Johnson had access to more designer drugs as well as HGH it does not really make sense that he would have taken Winstrol.

Had the pleasure of seeing Benji several months ago. I remember Ben Wilson and the tragedy. Hope not to see it occur again. Just watched Broke and man, there are lessons in that for everyone. Would love to see the piece on Goose Tatum but haven't been able to find it online yet. 30 for 30 is great stuff.

The KU one isn't in the same stratosphere as this.

 

They already did the Ben Wilson one before, it was called "Without Bias", the story of Len Bias. Only difference was that instead of using the word "cocaine", they substituted the word "gangs".

I did like the illustrations, though.

 

The funeral footage was just heart-wrenching.
