So could every team in the NFL north of Miami in that draft could of had Elway or Marino?

Could a team have drafted Marino then packaged him in a trade to the Colts for Elway? Was Irsay blocking that as well?

    They're working on a 30 for 30 about Cleveland's sports misfortunes for 2014.

    I can't wait for the series' first-ever six-hour episode...

I saw part of the 30 for 30 on Bo Jackson and a couple of people made an interesting point. If Bo had come along 10 years later, he would have been suspected of using steroids.

Someone also mentioned that Bo had a state of the art gym at his home, prior to his injury, and he never used it. He wasn't a work out nut. He just was a gifted person.

For what I saw it was a good piece, though a bit sad, as you would expect a "What might have been..." story to be.

I don't think Elway was a workout monster either. I cold be wrong, but he was just born a big strong SOB.

Wiki has a description of the next film in the series. No air date yet, but given ESPN's past tendencies, I imagine it'll be on the air sometime near the Stanley Cup finals, with the subject matter.

Bill Simmons tweeted that the next group will include the Spano doc sgreenwell mentioned, along with films on Sonny Vaccaro, Maurice Clarett and Hawaiian surfing legend Eddie Aikau. Plus a series of 9 short films on Title IX:

Richard Deitsch tweeted that upcoming 30 for 30s include "No Mas" about the Roberto Duran-Sugar Ray Leonard rivalry, Among The Bad Boys (on the Detroit Pistons teams) and "The Whack Heard Round The World" (on Tonya and Nancy). The former will start the new "season" Oct. 1.

Just got cable back a few weeks ago for the first time in months and spent a few days getting caught up on the newest ones. I found "Broke" to be interesting (as well as frustrating as hell) and the "Elway to Marino" to be fun as well because I didn't know (or didn't remember) the whole backstory of Elway not wanting to go to Indianapolis.

The Elway stuff was before my time - I'm 29 - so I had only read about it before. Seeing the video clips and interviews really helped to bring that story alive in a way that reading about it didn't. Loved that documentary. (Tangent: It also made me imagine all of the great gems of history that we've lost because, back in the day, they would just re-use film and tapes, especially for sports and talk shows. Apparently a good portion of early Carson is believed to be lost forever because of this.)

Returns tonight, with "Hawaiian," the story of surfing legend Eddie Aikau.

The rest of the fall series:

Oct. 8 -- Free Spirits ... the ABA's St. Louis Spirits, who refused to merge and took an annual cut of the NBA TV contract instead

Oct. 15 -- No Mas ... Duran quits vs. Leonard in 1980

Oct. 22 -- Big Shot ... John Spano's fraudulent 1996 purchase of the New York Islanders

Oct. 29 -- This Is What They Want ... Jimmy Connors' 1991 run to the U.S. Open semifinals at age 39

Nov. 5 -- Bernie and Ernie ... 1970s Tennessee hoops legends Bernard King and Ernie Grunfeld

Dec. 14 -- Youngstown Boys ... the doomed relationship of Maurice Clarett and Jim Tressel

"Tonya and Nancy" was originally supposed to round out the fall series, but for whatever reason is not. Haven't heard why.

I remember reading they never got an interview with Kerrigan (but someone else did). Wonder if that has something to do with it.
