I'm so glaqd somebody else thought that was great.

Also, I agree about Parks and Recreation. Someone made a massive miscalculation. When I first saw the promos, I thought Amy Poehler was going to be bravely tilting at the windmills of small-town bureaucracy, trying to make the best of a bad situation, sort of like Pam on The Office. Instead, she's Michael on The Office, without Dwight, Jim, Phyllis, or anything really funny to say. There's nothing there for you to care about. Hugely disappointing.

I think Poehler is one of the most overrated people ever on SNL. That said, she's still better than 90 percent of the current cast.

30 Rock still cracks me up.

The first episode of Parks and Recreation was very, very mediocre. I've read it gets better as it goes.

Someone clue me on what makes 30 Rock must-watch TV. I always watched (and enjoyed) the other show loosely based around Saturday Night Live: Studio 60. When it went off the air, I decided to give 30 Rock a shot since I had heard so many great things about it.

I've been trying to get into it for 2-3 months now and just can't. Beyond being occasionally amused at some of the one liners, I just don't find many of the characters that entertaining. Liz, Jenna, Tracy Morgan...none of them do much for me.

How about Tracy Jordan talking about the sexual harassment handbook?
"I already learned all that during an evening I spent with Isiah Thomas."
    Awesome.

Honestly, that's all it can do. That show is dreadful.

I find it unfortunate that people would write off P&R after two episodes. The Office wasn't very good at first either, but it built a definite mood that blossomed with time. Michael Schur was one of the funniest people on the Internet when he was doing Fire Joe Morgan, and he wrote some of the funniest Office episodes. He didn't suddenly forget how to be funny. I'm going to give him a chance to hook me that last longer than two 22-minute episodes. But that's me, I guess.

I'm giving it a shot. I love Nick Offerman, the guy who plays Poehler's boss. He was the only thing remotely funny about the short-lived Office-style show "American Body Shop," on Comedy Central.

I thought The Office was pretty good right from the start. Of course, it had the British version to prop itself up with. I've watched both of the P&R shows and have not found anything funny yet. But, I also think someone should shoot Jason Lee in the head for even thinking about doing that ridiculous My name is Earl show so maybe it's just me.

Earl was funny the first few seasons, mainly because it was so original. Now? Meh. I've also scoped P&R, and hate it... which pains me because I love Poehler. Have been a fan of hers since back in the old Conan O'Brien days when she was Andy Richter's sister.

As for 30 Rock, it's lost its fastball, IMHO. Still a few good lines, still better than much of what's on TV, but still below the level of its freshman season. Fading slowly, but fading nonetheless.

the problem with the "mockumentary" format is that the format is a big part of the humor. It's like a "knock-knock" joke, after a while it gets pretty stale.

Never really got into My Name is Earl, and I cut off the second ep. of P&R. Just not that funny. Love Poehler from SNL, but it's just floundering.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think The Office is way overrated.
