    I really hope there's a scarecrow and a munchkin in this story, and the kid is hiding in the neighbor's yard.

    Otherwise, this is too horrible to imagine.

    If he fell out, you would think there would have been a visible opening on the little pod, but there wasn't.

    My guess is this going to turn out to be a case of the kid cutting it loose and hiding because he thought it would be a really cool joke.

    It took a while to find the balloon in the sky. He easily could have fallen out early on without anyone seeing.
