Unless you put it all on him.

This isn't like Newtown where you can clearly look at the mom and blame her for her son being so fucked up.

I meant he wouldn't have shot seven people without a gun.

Back when video stores were still prevalent, I remember being in one with my daughter and noting particularly how many box covers featured a dude brandishing a gun.

Doesn't work that way, because there's no scientific way to disqualify the possibility of correlation.

True and I'm not opposed to much tougher gun laws. It's hard to argue with the success that tougher laws have had in other countries.

I always think of the Simpsons episode where Homer is told about the waiting period and says, "But, I'm mad now..."

Obviously, with the Internet and buying them illegally, if someone really wants to buy a gun, they will be able to, but if tougher laws prevent 1-2 of these tragedies from happening, I'm all for it.

Sorry, Rick, but I didn't say it's true, either.

My assertion is no more true or false than you disregarding a possibility just because it's in the conversation.

The standard for being brought into the conversation could probably stand to be a *little* higher than something that applies to almost literally everything in the human experience.

  9. I don't think a waiting period would have prevented this one. This kid was a long-simmering pot of anger.

There are reports that Richard ate 6 pieces of American cheese minutes before he went on his rampage.

    Let's blame the cheese!

There's little point in discussing laws that would prevent these incidents.

Laws with actual teeth will never pass in the U.S.

But, the one thing we can always do is make sure the blame gets put where it belongs. Blame the one piece of the equation without which it is literally impossible to go on a "shooting rampage."

Pretty sure he bought the first gun in 2012.
