Now, now, we can't keep confusing Dr. Crane here.

Not bustin' your chops specifically here, LTL, as I see strains of this across the spectrum. But I find it amusing how expert we all are re: the Supreme Court.

Sure, I thought it was implicit there that it's my opinion.

But I do not know where the "well regulated militia" portion of the Second Amendment exists anywhere right now.

And anyway I was talking more about a new constitutional amendment than a Supreme Court fight, and that's where I was going with the total impossibility of it.

    I reconsidered.
Your being mentally diseased yourself, you certainly would be operating from a position of authority on this thread.

You should have taken and passed the quiz. Only then should you have gone to the dictionary.

The first amendment is more important than the second because it protects more fundamental freedoms, and because the second is an outdated relic that makes society worse in modern life.

There's no reason all the amendments have to be equally important.

Interesting date: June 16th of that year marked the one-year anniversary of Baron Scicluna's last valid analogy.

The Third Amendment was always my favorite. The founders gave more thought to soldier quartering in peacetime than granting women the right to vote.

Well, other than the fact that, in toto, they complete the friggin' Constitution ...

You want to say one's more consequential than the others? Have at it. You want to argue we've blown by some -- e.g., the 4th -- and not some others? No arguing that. But if an amendment's in there, it's important. Period.

(OK, you might have a point with respect to the 18th/21st ... but that's it)

I'm seeing political talk on this thread. I hope you all realize that remains proscribed.

I completely understand the Third Amendment's importance at the time of ratification. But it hasn't been particularly important or relevant since the Revolution ended.
