I'm not getting the gay thing. If he were gay, he probably wouldn't really give a damn that much about women.

 

He's not gay. That's just how 20-somethings dress and look now.

 

He was virginal at 22.
Once again, we have a mass killer who couldn't get laid.

I do not intend to make light of it. This is a commonality.

 

I don't recall a ton about those other two, but this sexual frustration/self-feeding misogyny seemed less at play in those first two. It wasn't simply that he couldn't get laid by 22, it was that became an overwhelming feature of his life and psyche. We've had hermits and recluses since time began, but only now do they feel they are entitled to sex with only beautiful women. There was a killer in Pittsburgh in 2009 that seemed more along these lines. Not a virgin, but with sexual frustration and hating women very much in play.

 

You'd think with Daddy's money, he could afford a good hooker or two.

Gun laws have actually gotten looser since then.

 

I'm with dirtybird on this. It's the sense of entitlement and the social disconnect that's more the problem than any sexual frustration.

That seemed overplayed by the perpetrator to me, making it seem a little faked and pretentious. The age of 22 seems a bit premature to have virginity driving you -- even if you're a frustrated guy -- to the point of widespread mass murder.

That going from place to random place and doing it is the most chilling part to me.

And I feel for Rodger's parents, particularly if they did actually try to give prior explicit warning to authorities about concerns regarding their son.

 

With all that money he couldn't just go buy a cheap piece of ass?
