Anyhoo, my great uncle, macgmacg, was a cook in the USN/USNR for many, many years. Told the same stories about sending the new ensigns out to ask the Master Chief for the lefthanded hammersander. "Don't come back without it."

Macgmacg was a helluva cook even after he mustered out. Trouble was, he never got over cooking in vast quantity. Couldn't really reduce the recipes. Was more comforable with a canoe paddle than a spoon. Not a holiday dinner went by that we didn't have to haul out an extra twenty pounds of candied yams and a suitcase full of roast beef.

"I may have made too much," was our family punchline for decades.

JDV, you finally crossed the line with me. Comparing yourself to the 3 Stooges?!?!? That'd be like Night Ranger (Hi BYH) comparing themselves to the Beatles. I grew up watching Stooges episodes at family gatherings and to this day it's my favorite TV show of all-time.
