This was one of the more hilarious lines from the General Mayhem site...

"John was such a devastating [football] player that they soon stopped telling him where the games were after he sent several other players to the hospital as no one could match up with him, even with double or triple teams. Then again, John is a world-class athlete and your typical law student is not overly athletic."

Pardon me while I release this...

Yeah. That was the reason they stopped telling him.

And JDV ruins another thread ...

Why were all our beautiful shoes deleted and his egomaniacal wastes of self-aggrandizing turd remain?

At least you're still here, Flash. Much more enjoyable seeing you post than him, even if it is about shoes.

Didn't watch Costas, like most of America, but I read about it. Never been a fan of any of the couch pundits. I also missed that PED expose he did on his hard-hitting new show back in '96. Oh, wait, there wasn't such a show. Never too late to inject himself into a good story, I guess. Kim Bell? Patrick Arnold? There must be plenty more characters waiting for their 15 minutes in exchange for a little innuendo.

It's a huge story in sports right now. Of course he's going to find some angle to approach it. Any journalist with a clue about how to do his job would do the exact same thing in his position. Just because he and other members of the media failed to do these stories 10 years ago doesn't mean they shouldn't be done now.

But, he disagrees with you, so of course he must suck.

Degree of difficulty in getting wannabe C-listers like Conte, Bell and Arnold to come on your cable TV show and toss out some innunedo = zero. To me, Costas is just another polished voice from among the endless line Long Island boys discovered in the Newhouse School of Broadcasting's annual "Next Marv Albert" talent contest. Never been impressed and never cared what he had to say.

For one school to mold that many A-list announcers...
Did you get turned down for acceptance there?

    :)
