It looks like the 49ers kept him because they couldn't find a trade for a replacement that they liked. I wonder what they were getting from Pittsburgh in the deal the two teams had worked out.

Good news is he’s stable and he’s walking in this video. But Geez, he took one to the chest. This could have ended way worse.

 

Blew my mind when my buddy on a dog walk told me what happened; glad he’s doing well. My office is in S.F. and I’d say the city is coming back slowly. Crime stinks and maybe we’ve got to go back to NYC is mid 90’s when Rudy made it a police state, but I saw joggers in Central Park at 9:30 PM.

 

Still a lot of homeless in that area, which is a problem not just in The City, but everywhere. The Union Square area's economy will take a big hit when the Macy's there closes after the first of the year.

 

Agreed, Macy’s has been the very definition of an anchor for Union Square.

At one time that real estate was highest in world except for Ginza in Japan.

It absolutely should be, but it won't be.

I'm all in favor of eliminating the draft in all sports. The NFL won't do it because they have successfully monetized the draft, and the weakest teams would fight it because it would force them to become competent and not just force good players to sign with them.

I don't say many unions taking a stand on this because they are understandably more focused on protecting current members than the future members.

 

I don't see how leagues can drop drafts. The leagues have increasingly tigth caps and the drafts are part of the whole system.

 

Remember when the NBA rookies like JKidd and Grant Hill were making more in their first contracts than the vets? Yeah the draft isn't going anywhere.
