20 million is nothing for a QB.

    Daniel Jones makes 40.

Here's the list. Yes, I guess $30m is the going rate now. Only one qb makes $25m - Geno. It hops from Baker at $33m to Geno at 25 then Jordan Love at 13 and Minshew at 12. Three QBs between 10m and 33m. Like I said - a big gap.

No, he's not. He signed a 2- or 3-year bridge deal last offseason. Less than the 5th-year option, but the money was fully guaranteed, IIRC.

Fair to question any orgnaization that would take Pickett before the third round.

Who would be the current NFL starting QB who a rookie "should" be better than to justify an extension after the rookie deal is done? Someone in the Baker/Geno/Cousins area?

I'd remove Cousins from that group and put Derek Carr and Jared Goff in there. That should be the baseline.

I agree with Carr being on the list but Goff was the starting quarterback int he NFC Championship Game.

Isn’t the issue with Fields that a team trading for him has to either 1) pick up the expensive 5th year option before you know that he’s good; or 2) worry about leaving after 1 year if he’s good. Since no one is going to pick up the option, you basically are getting a one year rental at a decently high salary for a QB2.

According to Spotrac he signed a bigger deal, but it only runs through the 2024 season and then he's a free agent. So he'll get paid very soon as long as he comes anywhere close to replicating last season.

So was Brock Purdy. Goff is fine. Carr is fine. And when surrounded by the right parts they can have success.
