This is my point. Anyone who has ever asked me why I hate Belichick, it's always been "Because he dropped Bernie Kosar like a shit-filled diaper."

I'm not saying Bernie should have made millions, or that he was the QB of the future, or even the QB he was in the past. But you have to, as the head coach, have some understanding of what effect the way you handle things has on the city. I'm not sure a Super Bowl title in Cleveland would have erased the acrimony from his handling of the Kosar situation.

On the more comic side, I wonder what Bon Jovi's record sales were like in Cleveland during the Belichick era?

I can recall on at least two occasions watching someone like Connie Dieken interviewing Belichick and his good buddy Jon Bon Jovi -- a PR pathetitard-like stab at making Belichick more human to the Cleveland viewers. It was funny as hell, Bon Jovi talking it up and there's Belichick trying and failing like his life depended on it not to emote the personality of a 2x4.

I'm pretty sure Bon Jovi released an album somewhere in there, and I remember Belichick reviewing it on air in some form (probably his show or some Browns shill show), actually brown bunnying tracks by name off the album with his characteristic charisma. It was positively hilarious.

No need to insult the wood, Bubbler.

Belichick won with basically the same roster that the immortal Pete Carroll -- he of the non-a-hole, dry carp species -- couldn't win with, save Bledsoe.

But everyone forgets that Brady's first regular season was not spectacular. He basically kept them in games, and the defense won them. He made a few mistakes along the way. In the long run, Brady was an upgrade. Short-term, it was a draw.

Thats a fair reason IJAG.......and he learned from that situation with the way he handled the Brady/Bledsoe situation. remember that Drew was loved by many, many people in New England (not me), and people were pissed that he wasn't the starting QB when he returned from his injury, fortunately Belichik had the fortitude to stick with Brady.

I've met BB a few times, nice enough guy....and great coach.

First of all, fuck what you people (poindexter and shockey) think about the necessity of this thread. You can just blow me.

Second of all, Kosar was playing behind a horrendous offensive line and took some hits that probably took time off his career. He was battered and banged up when he was shown the door. He was sacked 14 times in a game in Indy one time, for fuck's sake.

The thing about him getting released was that Testaverde was hurt and not ready to play. So in goes a fuckstick like Todd Philcox and the season is ruined. The Browns were in first place when Bernie was released. Nobody ever talks about that.
